The best way to learn project management is to do project management. A course or a certification can however, get you up to pace with the industry jargons used. After managing multiple projects, to hiring a project manager to opening a project management book to read the jargons. This sequence might seem reverse, but is really the most effective. I could get certified anytime, but past hands-on experience helped me understand how everything works and also check if what we were doing with our projects using common sense was actually a method to do it.
